My thoughts on our emerging global culture. Inspired by: Mythologist Joseph Campbell. In “The Power of Myth,” and many other works and talks, he expressed our need for New Myths for the 21st Century. He suggested the iconic photo of Earth in space, “The Blue Marble,” taken by Apollo 17 in 1972. Another iconic photo — and the first view of Earth rising over the Moon — was taken by Apollo 8, in 1968. This was the first image ever taken by humans of the whole Earth. And the book: “Reality Isn’t What It Used To Be: Theatrical Politics, Ready-To-Wear Religion, Global Myths, Primitive Chic, and Other Wonders of the Postmodern World.” By Walter Truett Anderson He shows how our postmodern world presents the friction of belief systems — which define the primary philosophical divisions of our time. Published in 1990 by Harper SanFrancisco. And the classic book: “Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man” By Marshall McLuhan He elucidates how our technology alters our senses. He originated the expressions, “The Medium is the Message” and “The Global Village.” And also: “Promethea,” by Alan Moore. Presents the Apocalypse as a Revelation of our divine nature. The comic book series is available as graphic novels. MUSIC by: Band: Love and Rockets Album: “Lift” Song: “Lift – Malibu Mix” Slightly edited. (p and copyright 1998, Red Ant, LLC.) Science and Spirituality need not be at odds. In fact, the more science has delved into the empirical make up of the physical (quantum mechanics, string theory/multiple dimensions), biological (Gaia hypothesis, autopoiesis, complex systems), and psychological worlds (meditation, entheogenic plant therapy, integral theory), the more space began to open up for a spiritual interpretation. Reality is not what it seems. We need not continue talking about “God” as though “He” were some supernatural being who lives in the sky and designed the universe. Spirituality is just the acknowledgement that rationality (ratio=duality) is not the final end of human consciousness. The goal of human existence, in my humble opinion, is not to believe in God, it is to realize God Consciousness for ourselves. God Consciousness is the experience of non-duality, of cosmic unity, of wholeness.

A lifelong student of world mythology and the pre-Christian Mysteries, John Lash discussed the ancient Gnostic texts known as the Nag Hammadi, as well as the Gaia Hypothesis, Archons, origins, and calendars. In studying ancient cultures such as those of Egypt, he realized their astronomical and building knowledge stemmed from inner resources rather than technology, and many of their myths were based around an interface between the sky and the human mind. The Archons, referred to in the Nag Hammadi, are inorganic entities that preceded humankind and live off planet. They can interact deceptively with humans as mind parasites, in a manner that is similar to reports of ET encounters and abductions, he detailed. Yet, there are also said to be benevolent Archons who defected from the main group, and live in the atmosphere of the sun. Known as “paralemptors,” they may play a role in receiving people when they die, Lash said. He sees 2012 as a horizon point for the end of the great 26000-year cosmic cycle of precession, but according to his research, the actual end date for this cycle doesn’t arrive until 2216. In speaking about Earth’s origin, he shared an account from the Nag Hammadi texts, about how a power spike exists in the center of our galaxy, and from there a plume shot out into the galactic limb where our solar system is located. This plume or “serpent of light” was the living entity known as Sophia, who willed the Earth into being. Lash also discussed his work
