The doomsday clock: actual representation of the threat to Mankind or not?

So the doomsday clock is a clock that represents how close Mankind is to annihilation or "doomsday" as the name of the clock suggests. Last year we were told that we are "6 minutes to midnight", midnight representing the arrival of doomsday, it moved from 5 minutes so the world was declared a bit safer than it was in 2007. The closest the clock has EVER been to midnight is 2 minutes and that was over 50 years ago when people thought that the soviet union was about to start a nuclear conflict.
This is what the team of atomic scientists said was the reasoning behind the move in 2010 "International cooperation rules the day. Talks between Washington and Moscow for a follow-on agreement to the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty are nearly complete, and more negotiations for further reductions in the U.S. and Russian nuclear arsenal are already planned. Additionally, Barack Obama becomes the first U.S. president to publicly call for a nuclear-weapon-free world. The dangers posed by climate change are still great, but there are pockets of progress. Most notably: At Copenhagen, the developing and industrialized countries agree to take responsibility for carbon emissions and to limit global temperature rise to 2 degrees Celsius."
This was only a year ago. Even though this clock is changed sporadically either forward or backward is it an actual representation of the threat of the extermination of Humanity or the kind of Cataclysmic events that it predicts may occur, such as nuclear war?

Biochar is a fine-grained charcoal high in organic carbon and largely resistant to decomposition. It is produced from pyrolysis of plant and waste feedstocks.
As a soil amendment, biochar creates a recalcitrant soil carbon pool that is carbon-negative, serving as a net withdrawal of atmospheric carbon dioxide stored in highly recalcitrant soil carbon stocks.
The enhanced nutrient retention capacity of biochar-amended soil not only reduces the total fertilizer requirements but also the climate and environmental impact of croplands. Char-amended soils have shown 50 – 80 percent reductions in nitrous oxide emissions and reduced runoff of phosphorus into surface waters and leaching of nitrogen into groundwater.
As a soil amendment, biochar significantly increases the efficiency of and reduces the need for traditional chemical fertilizers, while greatly enhancing crop yields. Renewable oils and gases co-produced in the pyrolysis process can be used as fuel or fuel feedstocks. Biochar thus offers promise for its soil productivity and climate benefits.

In organic chemisrty lab we preformed a sodium borohydride reduction of 9-Fluorenone. Then I was given a post lab question I need help with.
- The complete combustion of 2.0000g of Compound F gave 6.3394g of carbon dioxide
and 1.0383g of water.
- Compound F gave one isolated product when treated with sodium borohydride
- Among other signals, Compound F exhibited a singlet at ~2.4 ppm in its 1H-NMR
spectrum. This singlet had an integration of one.
1. Based upon this information, determine the structure of Compound F.
(If the given information does not allow you to unambiguously determine the structure
of Compound F, provide all possible structures for Compound F.)
2. You must provide support for your structure(s) for Compound F.
Can some one help me please? Thank you

It’s a proven fact that the less energy we use, the less carbon is emitted. So as businesses go bust, jobs are lost and the poor are left cold and shivering, shouldn’t AGW’ers break out the champgne and celebrate the inevitable reduction in these carbon emissions…
